The Helena Independent Record holds a “Best of Helena” contest each year and readers vote the “Best” in several categories.This year in the Category of Physicians, Dr. Mark Ibsen came out a winner, tying with an Orthopedic Surgeon and a Family Practice Physician. Not a surprise to his patients, the “Best of Helena” award is a nod towards his positive healing and patient successes.

Dr. Ibsen brings more to healthcare than healing. He brings compassion, love and understanding. He is a doctor that wants to change the world one patient at a time and isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty to stand up for injustices made against his patients. Dr. Ibsen owns Urgent Care Plus in Helena, MT.

Dr. Ibsen is known for helping patients get control over their pain. Calling pain a “Terrorist” he has strategically lowered his pain patients off of high risk Opioid medications by prescribing alternative methods for decreasing pain. Most recently testifying before the Montana Board of Medical Examiners his successes in doing so.

As a general practitioner, Dr. Ibsen’s services do not stop at Urgent Care. For him, healing is an all-encompassing process including Natural Healing, Chiropractic, Acupuncture and positive reinforcement with supportive listening and the knowledge to ask the right questions.

Dr. Ibsen graduated from Washington University School of Medicine in 1980 and worked in the Emergency Room at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena prior to starting Urgent Care Plus, 39 Neill Avenue, Helena, MT

 

 

Montana offers Dr. Ibsen the perfect pastime, Dog Sledding. He is a true Musher. Maintaining a balance of work hard, play hard, Dr. Ibsen leads by example and encourages his patients to participate in healthy recreational activities.
